Unusual Vanitas that shows a view to the exterior. The broken glass is a symbol praising modesty and respect for others (it is advisable not to throw rocks to others when you live in a house with glass windows). The playing cards and dice symbolize the fruitless pursuit of gambling, the clock symbolizes the unstoppable nature of time and the need to use it wisely while alive. The skull symbolizes the transience of life.

I grew up admiring classic paintings, specially the Renaissance and the Dutch Golden Age periods.There is one particular feature of Dutch Golden Age paintings that led me to believe that I could try to reproduce them.
