Description
Inspired by the works of Ambrosious Bosschaert and his followers. This arrangement includes flamed tulips commonly seen these paintings. These were precious in those times, there at least two of these flowers, the Semper Augustus and Viceroy that were beyond the reach of even middle class people. The “Semper Augustus” was around 1,000 guilders in 1623 and went all the way to around 5,000 guilders by 1637 which is the equivalent of a house with a garden at the time. The tulip at the top left is very similar to a Semper Augustus
